Volunteering in Costa Rica is a topic we are passionate about, particularly animal welfare & rehabilitation. Catalina and her husband, the founders of C.R. Referrals Travel, have been involved with animal rescue for many years and that passion is something everyone in the office shares. We have many opportunities to add in a volunteer experience while you are here in Costa Rica. Sloths are always high on the wish lists of most travelers and we can put you up close with them on your trip. You can have morning coffee with baby sloths or work at a shelter for a day, there are many fun and rewarding opportunities!
Many volunteer experiences require a significant commitment, several weeks or more, and many travelers want to get involved but simply do not have that kind of time to commit. Luckily, there are a handful of one day volunteer experiences that can fit into almost any trip design and we are here to help work out all the logistics. Our travel planners are excellent at working these experiences into a trip.
Our Volunteer Adventures sample package is a good place to start, let your travel planner know you want to get involved. NOTE: We do not take any commissions from any tours at rehabilitation centers. We feel this money needs to stay with the shelters and so any commissions that are offered we do not accept.
